Jackie Visits the Children of the Corn

October 17th I had a baby shower for little Eva. (Yes, I'm really back-blogging here, but if I don't do it, I think certain best friend who lives in Ohio who will remain unnamed, may just hire a sniper to come and wipe my happy self off the face of the planet. Just sayin'. She got a little snippy about it today and may or may not have already threatened me bodily harm. Heehee!)

And my best friend was there. Actually, she came a couple days before that, on Thursday. And stayed until Monday morning.

Jackie drove all the way from Ohio in her sweet Mini Cooper, so that she could come to my shower. And, I'm pretty sure she had other incentives, like I know she was dying to rub my ginormous belly as well. :) And see Ellie. (And maybe she wanted to see me, too.)

We had so much fun-- it was right around Halloween, and my shower theme was Lil' Pumpkin, so it was a really pumpkin-filled few days!

We went to the pumpkin patch with Ellie, and got tons of awesome pictures! (And my GPS was totally wrong about the directions, so I'm glad she had her iphone with her, which had a GPS)

We went to the pumpkin festival at a local nursery. It was lame, but we bought our pumpkins there. And ate hot dogs.

We (mostly SHE) made pumpkin cookies with buttercream frosting. I just helped frost them. Those cookies were so good!

We ate pumpkin Hershey's kisses, and I became addicted to them.

We went to my shower, which was the best.
This awesome girl got me way too many gifts-- including the sling that I am in love with!

And Jackie and Deb decorated the best onesie for Eva, that said "My Mommy's a rockstar."
So true :D

While I was laying down one day, she cooked up some chicken tortilla soup with fried tortilla pieces-- both Ricardo and I fell in love with it! It's sooooo good!

We sat down to sort out Ellie/Eva clothes, and I thought my water broke when I was sitting there, and I think I scared her with the face that I made! (FYI: I didn't pee my pants, it was just a weird hot flash on the foot I happened to be sitting on, that felt like warm water running down my leg. Completely normal. Haha!)

She also cleaned my kitchen. That, my friends, is a BIG DEAL.

Oh, and I drove her sweet car. (Just in case you missed the first link, here's your second chance. 'Cause I'm nice like that.) It was fun--- like driving a really expensive go-kart. :D

We took so many photos while she was here. She's amazing at it, me not so much, so she was giving me (and Ricardo too) lots of pointers on how to make the photos turn out better. I think, between the 2 of us, we got some great ones! Especially at the pumpkin patch. I now have some priceless ones, of Jackie holding Ellie-- 2 girls that I love!

So, Jackie, although you had to drive hundreds of miles through corn fields, it was worth it and GREAT to see you again! Thanks for making the sacrifice to come see me.

I love you!

holy cow!! it's about FREAKING TIME you blogged about my trip there (you're only 4 months late)! I had so much fun and will never forget that trip.

A couple things...first, I'd like to point out that when you were driving said sweet mini cooper, you couldn't move the seat up because said ginormous belly was in the way. I had to do it for you. :)

Second...I was really kinda freaked out when you thought your water broke. But then I was kinda bummed because I wanted to see Eva in person. ;)

Third...I ABSOLUTELY love ALL the photos with Ellie and I. I love that little girl and can't get enough of her.

Thanks for have such a great family and letting me come see you and your said ginormous belly (which was housing an alien who kicked like mad!)!

love you girl!
