V-Day.
Since Valentine's day was on a Sunday this year, we pretty much celebrated it all weekend long. Which was fabulous. I love V-day, when it's celebrated right. And by that I mean, I want to feel like a sponge that is full to the max-- I want to be so saturated with gooey red-and-pink-hearts-all-over-
This year, I think we did it right. At least, by me.
Friday after work, I stopped and picked up some stickers for Ellie and cards for the girls and Ricardo, and also one for Grandma and Grandpa from the girls.
I walked out of the card aisle and ran straight into a rack of beautiful, modern, slate gray suits. I had been thinking of checking out Penny's or Sears for sales on men's suits for Ricardo, but wasn't sure I was actually capable of getting the size right, or what his reaction would be.
But the price was right-- so I eyeballed it and took the leap. And, as luck would have it, he loves it. And, it fits him to a T :D Go me!!!!
We got home and I passed out everyone's gifts... Ellie went a little buck-wild with the stickers.
... And then we took Ellie to Chuck E. Cheese's... She had a blast. Ricardo helped her win a ton of tickets while I stayed with baby Eva, whose eyes were the size of saucers as she obsorbed the rainbow of colors and sounds.
Saturday morning Ellie came to my bedside... She stood there quietly and waited to be noticed. When I rolled over and saw her there, she greeted me with a pat on my hair. When I didn't make a move to get up, she put her hands on her hips, and groaned,
"Aww, please don't tell me it's Saturday!"
Ricardo and I cracked up. She apparently hates Saturdays, because she doesn't get to go to Grandma and Grandpa's house, or church, where she would consequently see, once again, Grandma and Grandpa. And, as an added bonus, Tia Lorena! But, she did end up getting to see Grandma and Grandpa. Because, later that evening they came over to watch the girls, and Ricardo and I went to the movies with the infamous Tia Lorena and Tio Allen to see Valentine's Day...and Ricardo gave me a necklace. It's a delicate gold chain with 3 very different crystal leaves hanging down. The black one is for Ricardo, the light blue one is for Ellie, and the littlest clear leaf is for sister Eva. I adore it. It reminds me of my three loves.
We came home and celebrated some more with chocolates and Mormon wine.
And Sunday morning, Momma was sick. Too much lovin' the night before, I guess :) I got the girls dressed and ready, and me mostly ready, taking bathroom breaks at 5-minute intervals... before I threw in the towel and decided I better stay home. Ricardo took Ellie to church (which was really nice of him), and I stayed home with sister Eva. We took a nappy and Papi came home and woke us up with kisses. We ate and then I let Papi take a nap, while the girls chilled and I went crazy taking photos of them and everything around me that manifested LOVE.
Sister Eva loves Mommy.
... and more sweet Eva lovin'....
And, some more.
And another.
Because who could get tired of this face??
Last one... maybe ;)
Sister Ellie loves to lay on the floor and avoid Mommy's camera...
Love birdies.
Surprise! More sweet Eva sugar.
