bathing suit dreams...

You know how, when old men are watching TV, they fall asleep? But then when you go to change the channel, they wake up and insist they're still watching and won't let you change it??

Okay, Ellie did something like that last night. With a bathing suit.

Yesterday Kristin kindly brought in some footie PJ's, bathing suits, and one pair of water shoes for Ellie, that Anna can't wear anymore. Ellie loved them all. She wanted to put on the bathing suits, but I told her it was too cold to wear them. So she just tried them on, and then we changed her into the footie PJ's and I put her to bed.

When I went in to check on her an hour later, she was wearing nothing but the bathing suit. Ay, Ellie....

So I carefully tried to peel it off of her. At which point she woke up, and started thrashing around like a fish out of water, screaming that she wanted to sleep in the bathing suit, and she wasn't going to take it off!

Since I've learned to choose my battles, the child slept with the bathing suit underneath the jammies.
