Sisters
I used to worry that whenever my 2nd was born, I would have to split my love right down the middle, and it wouldn't be enough for either of them.
After this morning, I know that's not the case.
I had Ellie in my lap, brushing her hair and putting a ponytail in it so that it wouldn't be in her face all day... she was leaning against my tummy, and Eva kicked her.
I said, "Ellie, baby Eva just kicked you in the back, did you feel that??"
She said "oooh, yeah, Mommy!"
Me: "That's how she says good morning, Ellie, and that she loves you."
Ellie: "Awww, I love you Sister Baby Eva!!!"
Then she made me talk for baby Eva... and she told "me" (Eva) that she was gonna tickle her when she came out, and give her lots of kisses. And that if she wanted, Eva could tickle Ellie, too. :)
That's when my heart melted and I knew there would be no splitting it in half. I can't wait to be the mother of 2 sweet little girls. I can't wait to get them both in my arms together and give them hugs and kisses and squeeze them both. I know that the love in our family is going to grow and grow, as we love baby Eva, and baby Eva loves us, and Ellie and baby Eva love each other. So much love!
