The Sisters are sorry.

After picking the girls up from work, making Ellie a quesadilla, feeding Eva a bowl of oatmeal and then a bottle, doing some prep work for tomorrow night's dinner, doing laundry, getting Ellie's teeth brushed, pull-up on, and jammies on, tucking her in with song and story, changing a pee-filled diaper courtesy of the Eva-nator, and yelling at Ellie to get back in her bed I FINALLY sat down with Eva on the sofa to catch a breath and some snuggle time.

Then the air went foul. I sighed and carried Eva into my room to change her poopy diaper. On my way there, I caught Ellie in her doorway. I told her to get back in bed again. She told me she had to poop.

"Fine, go," I told her, and started the unbottoning, sliding off, and pulling up process that is involved in an Eva diaper change during chilly weather.

I finished changing Eva and began to put all her layers of clothing back into place when Ellie hollered from the bathroom "I'm DONE!"

I told her to stay on the potty and I would be right there to help her wipe.

She let out an exasperated sigh. "You're taking TOO LONG, Mommy!"

This irked me a bit.

"Yeah, well, you know why baby? Because Eva pooped too. Both you and Eva decided to poop at the same exact time."

Ellie's response oozed with attitude and defiance. It caught me off guard and made me laugh.

"Yeah well, we're both sorry, OKAY??"
